| UNL Lists Assistant Football Coach Opening Posted: 04 Feb 2011 03:56 PM PST POSTED: 5:09 pm CST February 4, 2011 LINCOLN, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln posted a job opening for an assistant football coach Friday. The job description is similar to that of offensive coordinator Shawn Watson.The UNL athletic department has not issued an official statement.Head football coach Bo Pelini said earlier this week that no coaches had been fired or hired. That's despite a report from Indiana that an assistant there was leaving for a job as a defensive assistant at Nebraska.On Thursday, Marvin Sanders resigned his job as an assistant defensive coach. Personal and family reasons were cited.On the record, KETV NewsWatch 7 knows of two defensive coaching positions open at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Either the Husker program is adding another offensive assistant coach, or it's letting one go.Shawn Watson and another offensive coach, Ted Gilmore, were noticeably absent from the recruiting dinner Wednesday night in Omaha.
