Job Description:
• Contribute to Corrosion Inspection and Chemicals (CIC) Strategy and planning key deliverables as a member of the Corrosion Team.
• Provide corrosion engineering support to the North Slope corrosion control execution team, engineers in various disciplines, and Operations, as required.
• Research, assemble, integrate, and analyze internal and external corrosion monitoring and mitigation data to provide short term direction and long range planning for corrosion management activities.
• Investigate and propose appropriate design measures to control internal corrosion on new and replacement equipment. Ensure compliance with BP Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs) & Site Technical Practices (STPs).
• Support corrosion management interfacing and regular reporting to State of Alaska and Federal agencies as required.
• Failure investigation of internal and external corrosion damage to determine root cause, recommend mitigation actions and follow up.
• Evaluate and implement those emerged technologies, developed internally and externally, in BP Exploration Alaska (BPXA) facilities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the corrosion control programs

Position Requirements
o Bachelor Degree - Materials, Corrosion, or Metallurgy

o 5+ Years of Oil and Gas Industry related experience in the field of materials and corrosion engineeringo Detailed knowledge of internal and external corrosion mechanisms, and the implementation of corrosion control programs o Experienced in materials selection and design practices for control of internal & external corrosion in piping, tanks and equipment.
