Position Summary Position assists the Financial Services Department in the accumulation and reporting of the organization's accounting and finance information to management. This position's primary responsibilities are to generate journal entries, prepare and document detailed accounting information and support, and assist in the preparation of support for balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flows and other financial reports. Primary responsibilities also include a supporting the senior accountants with regular analysis of accounting data, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations of the company. Essential Functions

  • Gather and analyze accounting transaction information for entry into general ledger system.
  • Maintain account and cost center data in a consolidation accounting system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs, verifying data, and reconciling accounts.
  • Collect and prepare spreadsheet reports, verify information, interpret results.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files;
  • Assist in the review and/or preparation of company payments/disbursements, accruals, deferreds, assets, liabilities, owners equity accounts;
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements;
  • Assist in the ongoing management and maintenance of accounting procedures by following documented procedures and recommending changes when necessary;
  • Research and interpret data to understand and identify accounting and financial trends;
  • Monthly communication and support of other corporate departments and worldwide offices.
  • Assist in the analysis and processing of allocated expenses across multiple locations.
  • Facilitate and assist in completion of monthly close procedures.
  • Assist in the effective function, monitoring and documentation of internal control and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audit reviews (financial and controls).
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Skill Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years Accounting/Finance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • CPA a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory (GAAP) and excellent general ledger book keeping skills.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work - detail oriented with effective time management skills.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from Senior Accountant and/or Manager - Financial Services to accomplish daily objectives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications - especially Excel and Word.
  • Solid analytical, spreadsheet, financial systems, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
